So often, we long for a larger reason why – why we are struggling, why we cannot change our patterns, why things are as they are. What is going on for us at a soul level? How is this manifesting in our day to day lives? This is something I take seriously, if you are interested in exploring it.
Beyond listening and caring, I see my role as being – to walk with you for a while, when you need support, and along the way, use strategies, and suggest processes and actions that you can continue to do at home in the long term.
This might be NLP, hypnotherapy, energy healing, bodywork. Or, it might be that we come up with some tangible action and new habits for you in order to shift your experience. For example, this might be rituals, yoga poses, pelvic floor exercises, meditation techniques, or just new ways of being in the world.
It is extremely unlikely that any one process can resolve something instantly. Often, we need a little time and self-love to change, and a supportive relationship with a practitioner can make all the difference.
Bodywork (de-armouring, energetic healing)
Emotions and memories are held in the body as muscular and energetic patterns which affect our behaviour, feelings, and habitual responses. They are interpreted by the brain, and the information is acted out via our autonomic nervous system. Releasing the body at the level of both the muscular and the energetic system frees the body to experience joy. From emotional healing, to recovery from trauma, dysfunctions, and diseases, it is a complementary modality that can have profound effects.

What makes my approach unique is that I draw upon several body-based healing modalities, choosing the tools/types for you depending entirely on what YOU need. There isn’t one perfect approach, as each of you is completely unique!
The Beginning (bodywork)
First, we chat. It’s not, strictly speaking, necessary in order for me to work with you, but rapport is really important!
If you feel that we have a good connection, and you feel safe and trusting, the healing is much more effective.
Next, once you are on the massage table, I scan the body to get a sense of where your energy is at and thus where to begin. I might at this stage gain a sense of where there is imbalance, and how to approach it first. I am normally very quiet in the beginning, only sharing what I see if I feel you can make sense of it for me. I have guidance at my end to direct my energies.
What happens on the massage table
I definitely will use a combination of energy, myofascial release, and de-armouring (more on that here). Which tool I choose, and how I use it, depends on your situation/energy! I may also use gentle verbal guidance, either asking you to breathe more freely, or to tell me what you sense, or even to help your subconscious mind access something for me so that we can work with it (in which case we might do inner child work, NLP, or mild hypnosis).
Mostly, we are completely silent. I do encourage you to make noise, be emotional, move your body if need be, and definitely, definitely, I urge you to be present with your strong feelings and memories. We can only clear what we allow to the surface.
Hoping for bliss? Very often, I am happy to say, my clients feel quite relaxed and serene by the end of a session. Not to mention, they often have a greater sense of clarity around the causes for whatever has been presenting in their bodies/hearts/minds, and a greater sense of what they can do next in order to better clear it! Though practitioners rarely talk about it, there is a great deal of growth, healing, and love for us in the journey of working with clients.
Instant gratification can be alluring in this day and age, and some symptoms and experiences can be very quickly resolved, but what I value most is our relationship over time. I have some clients I see weekly, some every few months, and some just twice a year. Whatever is right for you, there is no need to know in advance, just know that our connection really matters to me and enriches my life, too!
